Anyone acquainted with Kate is aware that her creativity knows no bounds.  Her studio at MAG is always filled with a myriad of different projects she is seemingly working on all at once.  She has a wide range of styles and has submitted work to the Gallery in painting, fabric jewelry and dolls -- to mention just a few areas of her expertise.

PLACE OF BIRTH:  Warsaw, Indiana

YEARS IN PRESCOTT:  About 4 years.

YEARS IN MAG:  About 3 years.

FAVORITE MEDIUMS:  "I never met one I didn't like!"

MENTORS & TEACHERS:  "My mother is very artistic and we always had supplies set up on large work tables: Painting, sewing, writing, dibbling & dabbling.  Grandfather was a working artist and Grandmother a poet and music writer."

FAVORITE ARTISTS: "Van Gogh, Jan Roberts"

WHEN DID YOU FIRST BECOME INTERESTED IN ART? "Always. I never knew I couldn't do it."

ART DEVELOPMENT:  "Chicago Art Institute and RISD.  Designed fabric and wallpapers before computers, then joined a textile company in England and was Midwest sales manager/pattern designer/fiber designer.  Had my own hand-painted clothing and had-dyed handspun yarn company in New Mexico."

PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY:  "I've always wanted to know how to do it all.  I fell 'art' is more the wanting to know than the actual skills involved, a way of thinking more than a body of knowledge.  I can't remember every being bored or idle."

ACCOLADES:  "Prince (or formerly known as) is the owner of one of my paintings."

OTHER INTERESTS:  "Golf, grandchildren, bookmaking, knitting, travel."
