Description

An overview of how the Art Business "works" will be presented as well as detailed presentation and discussion on topics such as

  • developing a professional portfolio and the contents;

  • selecting, approaching and working with galleries;

  • where to find places to exhibit;

  • how to find Calls for Art;

  • ways to market artwork locally and

  • alternatives to selling though galleries.

Each participant will receive a comprehensive notebook of information.

 

Materials

None - all materials will be provided.

Note: The intent is to limit what needs to be purchased.

 

Instructor

After retiring from an engineering career which included marketing, Barb has spent the past three years developing a distinct style, finding her own artistic voice and studying the "business" side of being an artist - especially marketing artwork.

Since 2005 she has obtained gallery representation in Scottsdale, had two exhibits in Korea, been juried into several prestigious international exhibitions, has work  in exhibits touring museums, won a Surface Design award, has work included in several publications and has continued to sell her work to collection throughout the United States as well as internationally.
