Description of workshop:
This fast paced workshop will focus on a different project each day of the workshop. A floral and landscape theme will be explored. By incorporating different substances to manipulate the paint as well as cutting edge techniques, [found in her recent book, "Exploring Textures in Watercolor" by North Light Books] you will create interesting textures found in nature using an abstract theme. Beginners, intermediate and advanced students will all benefit from this workshop. Joye's paintings have been featured in "The Best of Worldwide Watermedia Artists" and "The Best of Worldwide Portrait and Figurative Artists" this past year. Joye will present numerous demonstrations for each project and give you the guidance you need to advance your artwork. This is the only workshop Joye will present in the Arizona this year so don't hesitate to sign up since space is limited.

The following is a list of supplies I recommend, BUT DO NOT FEEL IT IS
NECESSARY TO DUPLICATE THE LIST EXACTLY!!! Bring the supplies
that you are familiar with using. Don't forget to bring along an open mind,
creativity and the willingness to experiment and have fun! Be ready to Unleash
the Power of WATERCOLOR!
PAPER-- You will need several sheets of 22x30 - 140# paper. Please bring cold press watercolor paper. I use the Jack Richeson brand.
BRUSHES-- 2 inch wash brush.
1 inch flat, aquarella type
Round brushes, #6, #8, #10
PAINT-- I use Maimeriblu watercolor paint. Don't feel you have to buy that brand.
WATER CONTAINER-- A container that holds at least one quart of water. NO GLASS!
PALETTE-- Bring old faithful! I use a Stephen Quiller Travel palette.
PAPER TOWELING-- I like to use VIVA
MASKING FLUID-- I use the Jack Richeson Masking Fluid. You will also need a rubber cement pick-up, and a palette knife for application.
PENCIL-- #2H [ Standard pencil] A KNEADED ERASER
SPRAY BOTTLE-- I use an old Vitalis spray bottle because it doesn't blob the spray. Any spray bottle that has a fine mist will do. [The thinner the tube that draws up the water, the finer the mist]
SCISSORS and MASKING TAPE [not artist tape or blue drafting tape]
YOU DON'T NEED TO BRING EVERYTHING ON THIS LIST. YOUR BASIC WATERCOLOR SUPPLIES WILL BE FINE!
